Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Literacy Game for Kids - Alphabet Bean Bag Toss | Meri Cherry BlogI am so excited to share the second installment of our Preschool Book Series.  Last week I joined a few fabulous bloggers to create literacy activities for Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons.  This week we are reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.  I love this book! It’s so happy and silly.  Kids love it and there are so many fun ways to read the book with it’s jazzy style and great rhymes.  The illustrations by Lois Ehlert are fantastic too.  Gigi is always singing the “will there be enough room?” part.  I thought it would be fun to emphasize the alphabet and movement for our activity, so I made an alphabet bean bag toss with sensory a,b,c rice bags.  My girls loved the bags, but this activity is more for ages 3 and up.
